About Bee Lovely Candles
Bee Lovely Candles is located in Madison, Wisconsin. We make our 100% beeswax candles by hand, collected from our own bees and other local beekeepers. We make everything from tall tapers, to votives, pillars, and a whole swarm of fun shapes. Many of our customers like the color and aroma of natural beeswax, but we can also add colors and scents to our creations, and some of them are painted with acrylic paints. If you have a special candle in mind for a gift, wedding, or to match your decor, we also do custom work. Please bear with us as we update our site!

Painted
People tell us that some of our candles are so lovely that they couldn’t think to burn them. Well, if you are looking for an extra showy candle to show off in your home, we paint some of our candles
We paint them by hand with acrylic paints mixed with a medium that helps them stick to the beeswax – candles painted without this step will eventually peel!
Acrylic is a polymer-based paint, so it is a kind of plastic. We recommend that if you plan to burn our painted candles that you peel the paint off the portion that you plan to burn. We are working on perfecting some wax-based painting techniques, which could provide fully burnable painted candles.
But we know that you just couldn’t bring yourself to light these beautiful candles on fire!
These are the candles that we paint regularly. If you would like something a little different, we can also make a custom painted candle.
